Virus & Malware Removal

Full removal of viruses, malware, adware, browser hijackers and ransomware, plus hardening so it does not come back.

Virus & Malware Removal — the short version. Virus and malware removal typically runs $89 to $149 for a single computer. The low end covers adware and browser hijackers; the high end covers deep rootkit infections that require offline scanning and Windows component repair. Ransomware cases are quoted separately because recovery depends on the variant and whether backups exist.

How we fix it

  1. IsolateDisconnect the machine from shared drives and network storage so nothing spreads while we work.
  2. IdentifyBoot to a clean environment and scan with multiple engines to catalogue every infected object.
  3. RemoveDelete payloads, clear scheduled tasks, registry run keys, browser extensions and proxy hijacks.
  4. RepairRestore Windows components the infection broke — Defender, Update, DNS, hosts file, permissions.
  5. HardenPatch the entry point, enable real-time protection, and set up an automatic backup so it is recoverable next time.

Virus & Malware Removal — questions we get asked

How much does virus removal cost?

Virus and malware removal typically runs $89 to $149 for a single computer. The low end covers adware and browser hijackers; the high end covers deep rootkit infections that require offline scanning and Windows component repair. Ransomware cases are quoted separately because recovery depends on the variant and whether backups exist.

How long does virus removal take?

Most infections are fully cleaned in 1 to 3 hours. Remote sessions usually finish the same day. Heavily infected machines that need an offline scan can take up to 24 hours because the scan itself runs for several hours unattended.

Can you remove a virus without erasing my files?

Yes. In the large majority of cases we remove the infection and leave your documents, photos and installed programs in place. A full wipe is only recommended when a rootkit has compromised the boot process or the operating system is too damaged to trust, and we tell you before doing anything destructive.

Can you remove ransomware and recover my files?

We can always remove the ransomware itself. Recovering encrypted files depends on the variant — some older strains have free public decryptors, and files are recoverable from backups or shadow copies if those survived. We never recommend paying a ransom, and we tell you honestly if the data is not recoverable.

Do I need to buy antivirus software from you?

No. We do not sell software licences and we do not take commissions on any product. Windows Defender is genuinely sufficient for most home users and we will happily configure it. If you already own a paid product we will configure that instead.

How do I know the virus is really gone?

We provide a written summary listing every threat found, where it came from, and what was removed. We run a final clean scan in front of you and re-scan after reboot to confirm nothing re-establishes itself at startup.
